SA Philosophy in Education Conference

Keynote address: Dr. Phil Cam
Dr. Philip Cam is an Honorary Associate Professor in the School of Humanities and Languages at the University of New South Wales, in Sydney, Australia, where he was previously a member of the academic staff. Originally from Adelaide, He has a DPhil in Philosophy from the University of Oxford and is an international authority on philosophy in schools. He has run workshops for educators in many countries and, aside from his academic publications, has written numerous books for teachers and children. Listen to an interview with Phil here.

We are also calling for proposals for conference sessions.
Call for Session Proposals
- 45 minute Workshops: Engage participants in activities designed to demonstrate a teaching / learning activity. This could include embodied and arts-based practices, or place-based activities in the area surrounding Adelaide Botanic High School. Workshop facilitators are encouraged to prepare and share any relevant classroom materials with participants.
- 45 minute Seminars: Introduce and unpack a historical or emerging philosophical problem or topic. Presenters are encouraged (and can access support) to create classroom materials that participants can adapt to their needs.
- 45 minute Practice Exchange Sessions: Prepare a 5–10 minute presentation about an aspect of your practice in teaching / assessing philosophy, critical and creative thinking, community of inquiry, or related practice. This could be a classroom activity, task, project, or the like. You will be grouped with other educators in the session to exchange these ideas.
